The Profiles procedure allows the user to compare the values for the indicators for different time periods. You can see the change in the variable values from year to year (or other period of time) and figure the trend. Each report card represent a case (municipalities) and you can compare the evolution, in time, of the values for selected indicators. In this way you can compare the cases and the evolution of values for desired indicators.
Example: Trends for the following indicators: percentage of employed persons in private enterprises and monthly average salary between 2002 and 2003

If we compare the trends cards for VOLOSOVO DISTRICT and VOLKHOV DISTRICT we can observe for both cases an increase on monthly average salary but different evolution for the other indicator - percentage of employed persons in private enterprises (for VOLOSOVO DISTRICT we can observe an increase but for VOLKHOV DISTRICT a slightly decrease).
