Standards

The procedure "Standards" orders the cases by the values they take according to the chosen indicator: ascending - in case the indicator is considered to be negative and descending - if the indicator is considered as positive.

According to the chosen number of breaks, the cases (administrative units) are included into a color group (where the meaning of the colors resembles the traffic lights: cases marked green have the best status related to the chosen indicator, while the ones in red have the worst). Choosing the maximum number of breaks (4 breaks) keeps the meaning of the colors, except that there will be 2 shades of green, yellow, red and brown (the cases reflecting the worst situation).

Example:

The "Standards" procedure applied to the indicator PENSIONARI/1000_OCUP (Pensioners per 1000 economically active population).

The indicator has been considered negative because it is assumed that a great number of people that receive a pension per 1000 economically active population means a grater effort on behalf of the last ones, in order to ensure the funds required to pay the pensions.

The breaks have been set to 400 and 600 pensioners per 1000 economically active population.

Green indicates the communes where the number of pensioners per 1000 economically active population is below 400, yellow displays the communes where this ration is between 400 and 600 and red shows the communes having the value of this this ratio over 600.

The amounts near every case are the values of their corresponding indicator. The procedure displays the minimum and maximum values as well as the average according to the selected indicator.

The map below reveals the situation of the communes according to the color group they are included in. This is done in order to observe the situations where some geographical areas concentrate more cases in disadvantage (or favorable). For the analyzed indicator, in the N-E of the district, one can see a concentration of 3 communes in red.

<= 400 Min: 257.789
400 - 600 Max: 844.749
> 600 Avg: 494.1915

Case Study:

For the commune Tomešti, colored in green, the Pensioners per 1000 economically active population ratio is 297 which indicates a betted situation than the Victoria commune (colored in red) where this ratio is 844.
